The Novoli salon was founded by Italo-Latina Reina Gomez in 2014, following a career as a freelance hairstylist across the country. She arrived in Italy as a child and, over her life here, saw how underserved the natural hair community was, especially for ethnic minority women, so she picked up the scissors herself and hasn’t looked back since. Riccista’s slogan is “da noi ogni riccio ha il suo servizio” (with us, every curl has its own service), where every attentive stylist works to bring out the best in your curls. As of September 2023, they have launched their own salon brand hair products.

The newest addition to the list, Hair Revolution was opened in Siena in October 2022 by industry professional Stefania Scaccia—her impressive background as the stylist for Miss World Italy and Miss Continental Europe means she comes with a keen eye for the complexities of curly haircare, and will also advise on the best cut and color for your face shape, plus image consultancy and hair styling for weddings and photoshoots. The salon is unisex.

Bottega68 originally started as a men’s barbershop, where stylist Fabio would spend time with his uncle, the owner, at the age of 13. In 1997 he helped to expand the shop to include a salon for women, and now has two outlets in Bottegone and Santomato. The salon has a dedicated curly specialist and is the official retailer in Tuscany for the proudly Italian curly product called Curly’s Way. They promise guaranteed results with their curly cuts and treatments, which includes a free consultation on proper maintenance.
