Among the events, a showing about the history of Italian fashion will be open until May 6.
The Milan Fashion Week 2018, Fall/Winter 2018/2019 edition, started on February 20.
Established in 1958, this semi-annual haute couture appointment taking place in Lombardy is part of the so-called ‘Big Four’ fashion weeks together with New York, London and Paris. Indeed, Milan is the capital of Italian fashion and the sector continues to be one of the country’s strengths, as it showed robust growths in turnover (+2,5% from 2017) and export (+4,3% from 2016).
Shows and Events
Full of shows and events, this year’s edition is special, as the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, The National Chamber for Italian Fashion responsible for the organization of the event, is turning 60. To celebrate the anniversary, a showing about the history of Italian fashion from 1971 to 2001 will be open from February 22 to May 6.
Apart from that, the Milan Fashion Week 2018 will feature 64 fashion shows, 92 presentations and 18 events. Among the big names and the new entries to report, Moncler kicked off the Fashion Week with its new project ‘Genius’. Moreover, Tommy Hilfiger will present its new collections with the usual formula ‘see now, buy now‘, allowing the fans to buy the clothes already during the show.
